Part 1 – How to automate testing of the procure to pay process for Microsoft Dynamics 365 FSCM

When we implement Dynamics 365 FSCM we define the business processes that are required to effectively run our businesses.

Testing those business processes is an important part of maintaining a quality solution, one that you can be confident will continue to support your business operations when changes are implemented and Microsoft updates are applied.

Microsoft’s updates cadence does not provide customers much time to test updates. To test manually requires releasing many resources to do the testing which takes them away from their already busy workloads.

For this reason we recommend automating as much of your testing as possible to reduce the burden on resources and still maintain confidence that you continue to validate your critical business processes before updates are deployed to production environments.

Executive Automats is a testing tool that is specifically designed to automate the testing of Dynamics products. We will use Executive Automats to show you how to create automated test scripts in Dynamics 365 FSCM in this 4 part series of videos. We will create a number of automated scripts that test the functions involved in the procure to pay process.

In the last video in the series we will links these scripts together to produce an end to end scenario to test the procure to pay process.
